ztrasvootyeah (hello)!
So this week we were able to watch the funeral for President Packer. You could definitely feel the spirit as the other apostles talked about what a great man President Packer was and how strong is testimony was of the gospel.
So far we have been able to teach 2 of our investigators twice this week. Let's just say that there have been a lot of ups and downs this week in regards to that. The first lesson that we had with Eulia (? not sure if that is how you spell it) was amazing! We just had an outline of our lesson and a word bank. The spirit was so strong. The most important part was that we were able to look into her eyes and not just read our papers. Then the next day we were crushed when we taught Andrei. We basically had no idea what he was saying and could answer his questions or teach him anything. We were so devastated after that lesson. Last night we were able to talk to Sister Hyde though and we convinced her to show us the notes that Brother Clark had about our lesson and there was nothing about us giving a terrible lesson only that he could feel that we loved him and wanted to help him. Guess that just goes to show that the spirit is really the only thing that matters in a lesson! We shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. As long as we are giving it all that we can that is all that matters. Our teacher talked about this and the story of Oliver Granger (look him up, D&C 117:12-13).
Other MTC happenings: We found out that Russians like to sing Christmas songs all year round, so a elder in my district now picks a Christmas song out of the hymn whenever he picks a song to sing in class or when we sing during out temple walk on Sundays. Also, in Russian the direct translation of "What child is This" is "What's with the child?" Sister Peterson was send some Russian candy this week and let's just say I am not going to gain any weight because of Russian chocolate.
The temple opened up again this week after being closed for cleaning! It was so nice to finally be able to go after not being able to for 2 p-days.
Today we have been at the MTC for officially 4 weeks! Crazy stuff. We are the age that the elders that are leaving this week were when we first got here. They seemed like they knew everything, but now I know that at 4 weeks you definitely don't know as much as it seems!
I love you!!!
