Hey Family!
So this will be the last email you will get from me in the MTC. I guess I should through a hopefully in there. Sister Foote (the one who had to stay at the MTC longer) always says "that's what you think!" whenever any of us say anything about this is our last time doing something.
The highlight of the week was getting flight plans! It feels so weird to actually be going to our missions. I send Mom and Dad a figure of them, but we will be flying from SLC to Las Vegas to Korea, then to Vladivostok. Lots of flying! Because of the time changes and the international date line we essentially won't experience August 18th, so tell me how it goes!
Brat Clark was gone this week, so we had a couple of subs. One of them was Sister Eyring who is the granddaughter of President Eyring. She was telling us about him and how ever day he emails a family journal entry and she read the one from the previous night to us. He rights in all in 3rd person, so it says, " "Hal had a meeting today. The appointment fell through. Hal didn't know why" Pretty great! Another was Sister Gish who served in Moscow and has some awesome stories. She was one of our investigators this week. After we taught her she made us sit down again and talk about what happened and what could have gone differently. Then we taught her again using what we talked about and the lesson went way differently, mostly because we were able to focus on her needs. I absolutely loved it though! Definitely a turning point for teaching. We also did this BOM activity with her where we wrote down any question we had, ranging from something about our mission, spiritual questions, or what we wanted to do after the mission. Then we just opened up the BOM and started reading a chapter that felt right. We were all able to receive answers to our questions. If you ever are having a problem or have a question just turn to the scriptures!
These week were really lucky and got a member to Skype TRC with that we really love to teach. When we had wrapped up our lesson, she started talking about how we were going to be such great missionaries and not to listen to what other people say about us. Only God's opinion matter. Also, that we had a pillar of light about us. It felt so good to hear that as we get ready to head into the field!
I I did see Sis. Oswald and Sis. Jackman at a devotional this week....here are some pics!
Not a lot to say this week, but I love you all so much! Have a good week and go forward with faith!
Love,
Sister Merrill
