Hi Family!
So do you remember how we had to move out of our residence building two weeks into the MTC because they found a bat. Well the bats struck again this week and were in our classroom building. It was in the classroom down the hall from us so we didn't have to leave or anything. The MTC is probably is sick of this bat fiasco and didn't make us leave the building. They got rid of it and carried on as normal.
The district older than us left Sunday night so we are officially the oldest district and should be getting our travel plans on Friday. There is kind of a technicality though because one of the sisters, Sister Foote, in that district has to stay for two more weeks because she hurt her foot and is waiting for it to heal. She is now a companion with Sister Johnson, so the tri-panionship was broken up. Sister Foote teaches with Sister Peterson and I know and I can already tell we have a lot to learn from her.
An RM from Vladivostok came and talked to us this week. I have no idea why he was there, but some sisters in our zone talked him into seeing us. It was awesome to hear about our mission especially because brat clark doesn't talk about Vlad at all. It was probably a funny sight though with all of us surrounding this RM looking up to him in awe. He is a BYU basketball player though so it has kind of necessary to look up since he was so tall.
The highlight of this week was definitely Tuesday night devotional. President Nelson came and spoke to us and the devotional was broadcast to the other MTCs. Our own Sister Jackman said the opening pray and represented Colorado. It was amazing to listen to an apostle while at the MTC. He talked about a lot of different things, but there are two things that stood out to me. The first was when President Nelson talked about changing the mission age. He said that they thought a lot about all of the results of what would happen because of this change and they weren't 100% positive about it. They went to the edge of the light and acted on what they knew. Even apostles aren't positive about what they should do all the time. We all need to remember to move forward in faith. He also talked about how the Lord will always fulfill His purpose and will provide a way to do so. I was thinking about that later and how He will always provide a way for us to fulfill our purpose as long as it corresponds with His. President Nelson talked about the Stripling Warriors and I'm kind of taking what he said out of context, but if you will remember in this story it said that all 2,000 warriors survived the battle, but they all suffered afflictions. As we try to fulfill our purpose on this Earth we will survive and return to Him if we are faithful, but that doesn't mean that we aren't going to have our own afflictions. The solution to this is to always move forward in faith and trust in His plan.
Love you and hope you have a great week!
